Invitations
Wedding invitations are usually the first indication an
individual has when considering what your wedding will be like. From
classic and traditional to modern and funky, your guest will know right
away what to expect.
Wedding invitations can get pricey, so of course, you do not want to
spend more money sending out invitations than you absolutely need to.
There are a few things that you can do to cut costs when you do this.
They include:
• Limit the size – It is best to keep the invitations to
one sheet of cardstock. If you have too many extra layers, this can
add to the weight of the envelope. The heavier the envelope, the more
money you will pay in postage. You should be able to find a style of
invitation that is suitable to your taste, but does not break the bank.
• Eliminate RSVP cards – This may not be a possibility.
If you have to get a head count because the wedding is being catered,
then there is not much you can do. But if you do not plan to serve dinner,
you could easily eliminate the RSVP cards and save some money.
• Buy standard-sized envelopes – If the invitations are
too large, you will need to buy extra large envelopes. But, if you buy
standard-sized invitations, you also can buy normal-sized envelopes
and save money because the larger envelopes usually cost more to purchase
and to send.
• Deliver by hand – Not every envelope needs to be delivered
in the mail. It may be fun to have nephews and nieces go door-to-door
to deliver invitations in their areas. Also, you could hand deliver
invitations to people you see often at work, school or church.
